Role

At Cipher, we process billions of dollars in payments annually, and we’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our Payments team. In this role, you’ll create a seamless payment experience for behavioral healthcare clients while building powerful tools to help clinicians run successful and profitable practices. To excel, you should have extensive experience with customer payments (cards, in-person, ACH, BNPL, wallets), payment service providers, and a strong understanding of the fintech landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Define Payments Roadmap: Develop a clear roadmap aligned with business objectives, customer impact, and trends in the payments and fintech landscape.
  • Collaborate with Payment Providers: Work closely with Cipher’s payment service provider to align their roadmap with our strategy, resolve real-time issues, and roll out new functionalities.
  • Launch New Payment Features: Test, refine, and implement new payment features or financial products, partnering with Marketing to determine pricing strategies and customer communication.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Build cross-functional buy-in for the payments vision and roadmap, collaborating with engineering, design, data, marketing, finance, operations, and customer success teams.
  • Monitor Payment Metrics: Define and analyze key payment metrics to ensure the robustness and health of the payments processing system.
  • Identify Growth Opportunities: Leverage qualitative and quantitative research, competitive insights, and customer feedback to propose enhancements and unlock growth and customer value.
  • Drive Prioritization Decisions: Create business cases to guide prioritization trade-offs and align with strategic goals.
  • Execute the Roadmap: Lead the end-to-end execution of the product roadmap, manage the feature backlog, prioritize requests, and create detailed product briefs to guide development.
  • Skills & Experience

  • Experience: 7+ years in fintech or customer payments, with a proven track record of success in the field.
  • Payment Processor Expertise: Hands-on experience working with or managing relationships with payment processors like Stripe, PayPal, or Square.
  • Product Launch Experience: Demonstrated ability to roll out new payment systems, methods, or fintech features to customers successfully.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities with extensive experience using data to drive decisions, segment users, build business cases, and prioritize initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work closely with diverse teams and lead product development from concept to execution.
  • Communication Excellence: Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex topics clearly and effectively to various audiences.
